I had to pick Brian up at LAX at noon today so I thought it would be fun to go to the La Brea Tar pits with the kids. Blake and Dylan love dinosaurs and fossils so I decided to brave the museum on my own with 4 kids.
The La Brea tar pits were formed with animals got stuck in the tar thousands of years ago and were excavated. The museum has over a million fossils they found in the ground, everything ranging from a rattlesnake to a camel. The kids loved seeing all of the animal bones. Best of all, the kids were on their best behaviour while we were there.
Afterwords we had about 30 mins to kill before we had to pick up Brian from the airport so I drove down Rodeo drive and we drove by the Los Angeles Temple.
Once I picked up Brian, he wanted to go to "Pinks Hotdogs" in LA. So since traffic was pretty bad it took us about 30 mins to get there. Once we got there the line was crazy but I was determined to try Pinks. So I waited in line while Brian took the kids to get donuts. 40 minutes later, we had our hotdogs. The kids and Bri got chili cheese dogs and I got a Chicago dog. It was okay but I definitely think that Pinks is over rated and not worth the 40 minute wait!
